One bite of these and you may never want to eat a plain burger again. This is in the spirit of eat less meat, eat more veg. The lean ground beef is mixed together with chopped mushrooms and garlic and made into little patties. The flavor is nicely intense. I serve these with new potatoes and a green salad. I might make these as little meatballs too…
2 tbsp. olive oil
1 pound of lean ground beef
2 cloves of garlic – roughly chopped
8 oz. baby bella mushrooms – roughly chopped in a food processor
Salt and freshly ground black pepper
Place 1 tbsp. of olive oil in a large skillet/frying pan and heat.
Place ground beef in a large mixing bowl.
Process the roughly chopped garlic and the mushrooms until they are in small pieces but not mushy.
Mix meat and mushrooms together by hand, then form into little patties (you should get 6 in the pan).
Cook the first six patties for 4 minutes each side, remove to a plate lined with paper towel and place another piece of paper towel on top and dab to get rid of any grease.
Repeat with the second lot of patties.
