A quick and very simple wintry veg. mix that goes well with a stew or a roast. You can mash the two veggies together or you can puree them – I prefer the roughly mashed version.
8 oz. turnip – cut into cubes
8 oz. carrots – sliced
1 tbsp. olive oil
Salt and freshly ground black pepper
Boil the turnip and carrots for around 10 minutes or until they are soft enough to mash.
Drain then add the oil, salt and pepper and mash.
